Thursday 21st June,2007 NGONI,BENON AND VAMPOSS, AND RED BANTON landed at Broma Airport in Sweden to a warm welcome from their hosts, CULTURAL PROMOTION CLUB spearheaded by Mr Seruwo and Kisitu, a team of Ugandans living in Sweden.The artistes headed straight to their residence in Uplandsvesby,at the home of their host family MR and Mrs Ssozi.
On 23rd June 2007,the artistes headed to Denmark for their first show which was to be held in Copenhargen, hosted by Mr Peter Ntende of NYONJO VIDEO PRODUCTIONS.After touring the city and resting,the artistes headed to and joined Martin Seku (who flew to Denmark from Uganda on the same day) and a host of other gospel artistes to stage a very energetic show that lasted six hours to the delight f the crowd that mainly consisted of Ugandans living in Sweden and Norway.CLICK HERE TO VIEW PICS FROM THE SHOW
The second show was held the following weekend,30th June 2007 in Sweden at the prestigious ELECTRUMHUSET hall. The show started off at 8pm with the Miss Uganda-Sweden beauty contest that was won by Lilian Mukiibi. Performances were started off at 11pm with London-based Lover Dee,who was followed by the ever-fresh Red Banton who mesmerised the audience with his hits like Kakoona and Noonya money,before launching into his new hits.
Next was the dynamic duo of BENON AND VAMPOSS.Dressed in white,they took the ecstatic crowd through live renditions of Nsazewo,My lady,Mumulete,Tina and their latest song I KNOW.By the time they crowned their peformance with the original version of Nsazeewo,the crowd had already filled the dancefloor and singing along.Later Vamposs was joined on stage by ROBBIE, a stunningly beautiful and talented Ugandan artiste with Swedish nationality and together they peformed their hit collaboration song 'GET UP' .
Next on stage was NGONI who crowned the night.Entering on stage with an edit of their ever-popular song Digi,the crowd joined them on the stage for a full 45 minute energetic peformance that had the fans dancing to DIGI, BUGULA, MIMI NA WEWE, BLACK YELLO RED, SUNITA, BANACITY, and NASIIMA GWE.
By the time the show ended at 2.30am, the crowd was in a frenzy and asking for more.D.J Junior,a west-african spin-jokey now resident in Sweden took over the disks and the crowd danced till dawn.
